In-Home Sessions with Older Babies and Toddlers

When people think of in-home sessions, especially if they’ve seen my work, they think of the chaos-filled, brimming-with-laughter sessions of my families with multiple kids of all ages. They also think of my more tranquil newborn work. What they don’t think of as often is in-home sessions with the toddler ages and below. They aren’t newborns, but they aren’t big kids either.

As with all of my in-home work, the most important thing about documenting your home is telling the story of your family right now. Just because you don’t have a house full of crazy kids, or a cozy little newborn doesn’t change that. Kids of all ages are special in their own ways and every age deserves it’s place in your memory books.

This family had recently moved in to a three-bedroom apartment in San Francisco and wanted to document this unique time in their lives. From their daughter’s bedroom, to the way she plays with toys on the floor of their living room, to her special relationship with the family dog, they wanted it all in there.

While I recommend longer sessions for newborns (1.5 hours to accommodate for feedings and calming if need be), these are my signature 1 hour sessions and we pack so much in. I make sure to capture the sweet moments, the silly ones, and with my pre-session questionnaire, any special skills or quirks that define this time in your child’s life.

If you live in San Francisco or Marin, you can find out more about what a session entails here. Ready to book? You can do that here!
